Though the new airport is in Silay, most of the shoppings, restaurants, hotels, administratives, etc.. are mostly located in Bacolod City. My suggestion is Seabreeze Hotel in Bacolod: moderate price, very familial treatment and the owner is also a great source of information and help.

Hi cmercadel! Felt ashamed about your ordeal in Tabao, as I thought well that the barangay leaders are doing well for the betterment of the community, but your experience seems to portray a different picture. I do agree with you that water should be "available" to all as this is a basic need in life. The elements contained in the contract formulated by the leaders are descriminatory indeed and ended. It will not surprise me if problems like yours will surface in the future as rules and regulations for consumers appeared to be biased and intended for Ilonggo speakers only: what if a Tagalog or Visayan speakers elect to live in Tabao then? Will they be deprived of potable water supply too?
Keep your spirits up and hope for the better, your wife somehow could be of help to solve the dispute.

Hey guys! What is your view on this: that freelance writers in Bacolod are not compensated well by the companies that hire them as an independent contractor. There are companies who would hire these very good writers but when the time comes that they need to pay up, they will delay or just completely forget about it? And if they do pay, it's usually very low.

What can freelance writers do to protect themselves? My suggestion is that they should always draft a freelance writer agreement so that they have protection from clients that abuse them. Can you give some more suggestions?

i had may on the job training in PAL both in singcang and the new silay-bacolod (should be SILAY airport only since its so distant from bacolod) and yes its really a great pain in the ass having to do my duties in silay where i have to travel 40 mins before reaching the isolated airport. not to mention the very scarce transportation from mckinley-silay all the way up to guimbala-on-airport. tricycled bikes have been banned by the authorities idk why when in fact tricycles is the most convenient way to reach the airport (if you do not want to spend almost a hundred bucks through taxis). even senior employees who do not have their own vehicles complain. it even comes to a point where we had no choice but to hitch a ride with Cebu Pac shuttle even if we are working for PAL (talking about swallowing the pride) just to reach our damn destination. Really, its a bad idea to put the port in Silay when Bacolod is the capital of the province. its a big insult and a big hassle. But i have to admit silay airport is way much better than bacolod's when it comes to facilities and structure.

ps.
that was probably last feb 2008 (the very start of the operation). i dont know whats the situation and status of the said airport now.
